Spark Plugs
The sparkplugs for a (3B en ABY) S2, are a strange story. Some carshops have a NGK spark listed in their computer for the S2. The only right spark plug are the Bosch Platin F5DPOR. Not to be confused with the cheaper Bosch Platinum spark plugs which have a thinner electrode. The Bosch FR5 DTC plugs are also being found in the S2, these plugs also don't match the specs. For example. the have a cupper core instead of platinum. Ask for the right plugs with your car maintenance.

Turn the plugs stuck in your engine. Don't overtightened them. Feel the compression ring click when you turn them in you S2. New plugs must be tightened with ±22 lb/ft or 30 Nm. Used plugs must be tightened a little more. Put some cuppergrease on the plugs to make the turning more easy. Check the plugs torque now and than, especially when you are running higher boost.

The spark plugs are very expensive, they cost between € 15,- and € 25,- piece. You can drive approx. 25 to 30.000 kilometer with them. But replace them in time. It would be a pity when you drivingpleasure is ruined by a few bad sparks.
